Class Descriptions:
PS Combo 1,2,3-A Wonderful Introduction to Dance!
A program designed for pre-schoolers to experience the dance
studio atmosphere while having the freedom to express their
creativity through songs, rhythm, props and movement. A ballet
class designed specifically for pre-school children, including
basic floor stretches, the eight basic movements of dance and
positions of the feet and arms. PS Combo 1,2 offers an introduction
to tap for pre-school children. Classes are created to increase
fine motor skills, musical awareness and basic tap sounds to
later build upon.
Lyrical -
Lyrical An expressive yet technically challenging form of dance
that combines ballet, jazz and modern dance styles.
HH - Hip Hop -
Move and groove to your favorite music while learning the newest
video dance steps.
Jazz
Our most popular form of dance, using your favorite music to
create a high-energy class! We cover the newest hip-hop and
funk moves from L.A. and New York. We also introduce Broadway
music and Musical Theatre jazz.
Ballet
Do you love to watch The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Sleeping
Beauty? Ballet improves grace, coordination and confidence.
Learn ballet technique and strive to one day dance in pointe
shoes.
Tap
"Making music with your feet." This class is taught
to popular, upbeat music. Improve your rhythm and musicality
learning time steps, "shuffle off to Buffalo," and
the "Maxiford."
Modern
Introduction to the many forms of modern dance such as the Graham
technique.
Classes for grades 1-12 are divided
by age and level. If you are coming out of our pre-school program,
you will begin in Level 1 and progress through the levels below.
Where noted ** there may be a Level 1 class for older dancers.
You may only move up an extra level with a teacher's recommendation.
Often in ballet, students are asked to repeat a level because
the technique is extremely challenging.
